Reset zoom factor back to FIT ON SCREEN when advancing to next image #356

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

First of all, if you have any Haxies, InputManagers, SIMBL plugins or
similar operating system hacks installed, please remove them first, restart
the program, and make sure the bug is reproducible without them.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open image with default set to FIT TO SCREEN
2. zoom to 100%
3. advance to next image and image doesn't reset to FIT TO SCREEN

What is the expected output? It would be great if it would reset to FIT TO
SCREEN

What do you see instead? image zooms to equivalent location on the next
image...Preferences pane - browsing tab could use an option to fit next image
to screen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Xee 3.0.6
on Mtn Lion 10.8.4

Please provide any additional information below.

The default applies to when opening an image, not when browsing. Set the scale
to what you want it to be while browsing, and it will stay like that.

right, but I have no way of telling it to reset the zoom factor when going to
the next image...which is very useful to have as an option. Any chance it could
be added in future?

Unlikely. It would add more clutter to the interface, and I don't think it's
very necessary, as you can easily get back to fit on screen mode.

I think the reason it stands out to me is that this is different default
behavior as compared to Xee 2.2

Not sure why that would be removed or how it would clutter an interface to add
it as a dropdown from that preferences panel, but I got used to it over the
last couple of years and found it nice to not have to remember to reset the
zoom level from Image A to Image B.

Good job on Xee, though.

It changed because I found the behavior in 2.2 to be needlessly confusing. Once
you get used to the 3.0 behavior, it is a lot more consistent.
