Can't set as default viewer

Running on Mavericks 10.9.2 and I can't set xee3 3.2 as the default program to 
open images. It tells me only apps from the app store or registered developers 
can be set but I purchased it from the App Store!

I can do a manual override for the one occasion but the setting is not 
remembered. I have an older Xee version that wasn't from the App store.

1. Right click open on an image
2. Select Other
3. Select Xee3 and click on always own with
4. A message says it can't be opened because it's from an unidentified developer

What should I do?

Well, first, check if 3.3 works.

Sorry, I do actually have 3.3, not 3.2.

Then something is probably wrong on your end, as Xee should be signed with my 
normal developer license and work just fine, I'd expect...

It did, just followed different steps and that got it working.
