Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to turn JirkaRybka's
documentation in this comment -
http://drupal.org/node/191310#comment-631567 - into a handbook page.

Given the multiplatform nature of this problem, probably the best approach
is a new landing page for permissions issues that then links to a focused
solution for each platform and level of access.

This is a task that is important for newbies to look at, and to try out on
a personal computer and shared hosting.

2-3 days.

Jordan's been doing an awesome job on this task, but it still needs a tiny bit 
of
work. Extending the deadline to Tuesday, Dec. 18 which should give plenty of 
time, I
think.

I think so too... Except for the fact that my internet connection has been down 
since
Friday...

I uploaded all the instructions and created a patch for the installer error so 
that
they will link to the new handbook page...

Jordan spent the evening learning how to create a patch (which was above and 
beyond
for this task) and that took his time away from getting the handbook page 
finished,
but it is stubbed and aliased AND we have a core patch to match! I'm extending 
it one
more day so he can get some sleep tonight. ;-)
