I'm sorry, but we forgot to open this task, so officially it can't be claimed.
I'll
mark it as open, but you need to submit another comment claiming the task to
make it
official. Sorry for the confusion.

kyl191, this one is yours.

Just an update, I talked with aclight yesterday on #drupal-ghop about the
dearth of
responses to the forum post and group post that I've made for part 2 of this
task.
(FYI: the posts in question are: http://drupal.org/node/203034 and
http://groups.drupal.org/node/7870 )
I'm going to wait another day for more replies (I thought 4-5 would be a nice
start),
but after that I'm just going to go ahead with views that I can use, be it self
created ones, the d.o/project/tags/GHOP view (although I'm not too sure it uses
arguments - seems to only work for GHOP tags.)
Thanks.

Since the lack of response slowed you down, i'm extending this deadline.

Hey, kyl191.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like you'll get quite the community reception we
were
hoping for. Could you please post your interim work ASAP? This task is due
today.

Hi webchick,
Caught me at a bad time... literally just about to head off to school. I'll
post the
stuff I have tonight though - need to go through what I have and compile it
into a
form readable by other people.
Thanks, kyl191.

Hi kyl191, how's it going we need to see some of your progress within the next
day,
even if it is just notes or drafts. Thanks!

add1sun: talking with you on #drupal-ghop about this...
(This post so other people know what is going on.)
Original comment by kyl...@gmail.com

add1sun & co.: Couldn't get you on #drupal-ghop so I'm posting the link to
where I've
put up the preliminary stuff here: http://drupal.org/node/206845
I'm still trying to think up new views without rehashing old ones (the views in
the
Views screencast, for example?)
If I have any new ideas for views, I'll probably post them as I think of them
(school
starts up for real tomorrow, and I'll be taking my laptop with me.) And I'll
probably
cross-post something here to show that I'm actually *doing* something about
this. :P

kyl191: that's a very promising start and a good template to which other
examples can
be added (I like the screenshots). One of the things that might be worth
addressing
is people's problems with views and arguments and list things to avoid. Here's
an
example of a user query that shows some of the unclarity:
http://drupal.org/node/117469. Another one is this:
http://drupal.org/node/140478. I
myself had a lot of trouble figuring out how to combine arguments and filters
and
what has precedence. I still haven't resolved completely, how I can users
browse by
term but search all on http://www.bohemica.com/teachers.

After talking to add1sun on #drupal-ghop, I'm going to add a few more use cases
of
arguments by covering arguments described in other documentation pages. Here's
hoping
I finish by tomorrow. :)

@kyl191: I posted a short review in the drupal issue for this task. Please
make
sure to follow up there, as that's the best place to get as many people as
possible
to look at your work.

I'm extending deadline by a few days so some users who know Views better than I
do
can take a look at this work and provide feedback.

@add1sun&co.: Ok, I've posted more use cases on d.o
(http://drupal.org/node/206845)
@dominiklukes: I'm afraid I have no idea how to solve your problem. The only
thing I
can think of is to have your filters be AND'ed together - I'm not too sure
arguments
can help you (unless you're using arguments to limit the country, but I don't
see
that in the URL). Quite honestly, you're better off asking someone who is a
*real*
expert with views - I'm just dabbling in it. :P

Wow, this was really interesting and amazing to see how much people are
prepared to
help. I am a totaly newbie and have used drupal for a month or so and love the
flexibility it gives to someone who is not a programmer. This ARGUMENT story is
killing me.... I have read the tutorials on drupal.org but most of it is still
quite
*technical* for me and I find it hard to grasp, so I wrote a post and tried to
give a
simple example. I would be happy to have someone explain it to me, and then I
would
even create a full tutorial for dummies (like me :-) ) and post it. I think
this
example could help others http://drupal.org/node/222051
