Out of memory and browser crush #21

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run http://www.webglearth.com/
2. Play with globe for some minutes
3. My FireFox crushes when RAM of its process is more than 1,5 GB

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I think that it happens because of WebGL Earth tile cache.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I'm using FireFox 4.0.1 on Windows 7

Hi,

I have the same configuration (FF 4.0.1 and Windows 7), but I'm not able to
reproduce the issue. The amount of memory the firefox.exe uses won't get above
approximately 650MB (It "jumps" down every once in a while when TileCache's
autoclean kicks in).

Does this happen to you on http://www.webglearth.com/beta/ too? The application
at http://www.webglearth.com/ is quite outdated and we're planning on syncing
soon.

Thanks

Yes, this crush appears everywhere.
I've noticed, that memory overflow happens when I drag the globe, using
OpenStreetMaps tiles (see picture attached). When I switch tileproviderselector
to MapQuest OSM memory usage falls down to ~300 MB.
