People receiving notifs from Career marketplace even when they are not subscribed and other GCconnex notifs. Also receiving them when their accounts is deactivated.

Example 1:

I keep getting these emails "A new file was posted in group Career Marketplace / Carrefour de carrière | Un nouveau fichier a été affiché dans le groupe Carrefour de carrière / Career Marketplace"

To unsubscribe from these notifications, login to GCconnex and edit your notifications' settings

I looked at my notifications settings and I don't see anything checked.

I don't want to receive these emails.

Example 2 :

I am unable to unsubscribe from career market place. I have updated my notification settings to no effect. Could you modify my profile to unsubscribe or send me step-by-step instructions for how to unsubscribe?

I deactivated my account, but I'm still receiving the messages, could you please stop that. I received so many and I don't have the time to read them or do any thing, it is only space and time for me to delete them.

I keep receiving new posting notification. I never subscribed for anything. I cannot log in and turn off the notification. I don't have user name or password to do so. Please stop this notification and advise me.

I would like to unsubscribe to emails entitles "A new file was posted in group Career Marketplace". I presently receive those emails in duplicate, but would like to receive none. thank you

Please advise me how to unsubscribe from notifications from Career Marketplace. Despite ensuring that I have all notifications turned off I continue to be bombarded with email notifications and it's becoming annoying.

I am still receiving duplicates. The attached was received three times this morning. Thank you for continuing to look into this

I keep getting email notifications from topics/groups that I am not subscribing to.

I wonder if it has something to do with the opt-in option on the profile.

I have seen that part of the problem for some users is those that transitioned to @canada.ca. They then have a newer duplicate @canada.ca account instead of communicating with us to update their old account which means their older email sends a duplicate.

Another reason I found out was this person spamming the Career Marketplace group with their resume on Wednesday: https://gcconnex.gc.ca/profile/Daniel.Eliosoff

It's possible that the culprit is the duplicate posting bug that seems to happen now and then, though I though it would stop with the site performance becoming much more stable. I can try adding files to the duplication prevention mechanism I put in place to potentially help with this.
