Multiple GCconnex/GCcollab emails that are identical. #2489

The user is unsure why she is receiving multiple emails from the GCCollab & GCconnex platforms.

Here is the link to the discussion post: https://gccollab.ca/discussion/view/15820788/ised-is-looking-for-a-departmental-driver-isde-recherche-un-chauffeur-minist-riel As you'll notice, spaces were added to the email address to circumvent the issue temporarily. Another discussion post had a similar issue recently - the person changed the address domain from @ised-isde.gc.ca to @canada.ca in that case. Here is the link if you want a second reference.

I did some investigating into this issue and there could be a few things that could be happening.

  1. Sometimes when the system times out from sending notifications it tends to double post content. This happens in big groups like the one where this content was posted.
  2. It looks like the content links to a GCcollab page as well. It could be that the user is a member of both the GCconnex and GCcollab groups and got notified of the posts on both platforms.

Unfortunately, we do not plan to make any fixes to the GCconnex platform at this time. We are aware that notifications are still a pain point with GCcollab so we update the backlog.

I will close this issue and link it to a update notification system backlog item.
