APRS Droid Will Not Use Microphone #149

Open W7LUX opened 7 years ago

W7LUX commented 7 years ago

APRS Droid will not input from the microphone with Samsung Galaxy Tab E Nook (Android 5.1.1). ALL other similar programs work with the microphone input. Enabling tracking locks microphone so other apps cannot use it (so APRS Droid is doing something with microphone). There is no blue line showing audio input level from microphone. Connection Protocol is AFSK via Speaker/Mic. Audio output (speaker) works correctly. Reloading APRS Droid did not change the problem symptoms.

APRS Droid works extremely well on other (older) tablets.

We use APRS Droid to track high altitude balloon flights for a local school and for testing/maintaining APRS digital repeaters.

Thank you, Joe

Hey Joe, were you able to reproduce the problem with the latest APK from the download page, e.g. with this one: https://aprsdroid.org/download/builds/APRSdroid-gl-2017-05-11.apk

Have tried on two different phones, two different cables, three different radios. The latest version (1.4.0 from the Play store) does not get audio input from the wired microphone.

ge0rg commented 5 years ago

That's really strange behavior. Are you able to provide adb logs from the device from right after starting the tracking service in aprsdroid? https://github.com/ge0rg/aprsdroid/wiki/Reporting-Bugs

Apologies, I abandoned trying to make it work and moved on to a different approach to using APRS. I have not been back to try the app again or to collect the logs.

This is still an issue on S23 Ultra and Tab S7+ when using an USB headset adapter. Old school Tab S with built-in jack works well it seems. Lastest build of play store installed :) Happy to provide logs
