That behaviour is not a bug. All DMR radios behave like that. If they cannot hear a repeater then they will attempt to wake it up by sending a wake-up call. The response to this wake-up call is just the repeater keying up and sending idle frames. It does not contain any information that identifies the calling radio. The radio can only assume it was successfull.
Likewise a radio that is hearing a repeater will assume that it can be heard and will allow a transmission to be made. There is no guarantee that this transmission will be heard by the repeater.
I probably haven't explained myself well, I know how a DMR repeater works, but with radio 878 it transmits even if there is a signal on a different slot, something that does not happen with Hytera radio or even with the MD380.
Firmware V1.11 (also V1.10) Falsa ack response On the DMR radios, when the PTT is pressed, they interrogate the repeater (3 times maximum) if they receive the repeater ACK allow us to transmit otherwise a tone warns us and the radio remains in RX, the 878 instead if it detects any DMR signal ,for example, synchronism of the repeater or simply if someone engages the repeater at that moment, also on the other slot it allows us to transmit ourselves by thinking that we are transiting, when perhaps we only receive it and we have no sufficiente power to engage it. NB I have also disabled the Digital Monitor for security
