5 years ago Figured out how to get the radio reset. Radio had startup reset = off which was keeping me from resetting it. Had to reflash the oldest firmware i could find 1.07 in which startup reset was not an option. At that point i was able to reset the radio, and then re-update the firmware again. As for why it froze, I re did the background image again, but this time i save the .bmp file as a bin and then opened up the bin and uploaded that to the radio. So far no issues.
I just got my replacement unit from R&L. Uploaded my codeplug to the radio with no issues. Once that was good i changed the background image. Unhooked it and it looked good. At this point the radio froze solid, would not turn off with the knob. I had to pull the battery. Now the radio is stuck on Booting please wait. It will not reset with PTT + P1 , reflashing the firmware has no effect. This is the second radio I have had this issue on.
