Election county-specific data is incorrect #33

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Describe the error received or the problem encountered:
There have been a number of reports (mostly from counties) that the data shown
within the gadget "Candidates and Details" screen is not coming from their
feed. I was wondering if this is the case.

The only source for candidate data at this instance is in fact, the feeds.
This may change, though i don't believe it will change in places we do have a
feed.

I was actually wondering more about the election admins, urls and contact
information. That's the info with which they seem to be taking issue.

Oh, that is not taken from feeds yet, i will get to that this weekend.
This data is also being updated, we realize some of it is out of date.

Just wondering if this one had any movement, yet. I'm starting to receive a bit
of heat on my end from the counties that don't want their questions re-routed
to the state.

On today's call, we decided to pull all the election official information
currently in feeds and update the Google database so the hardcoded information
in the gadget reflects what is in the feed. Obviously, if election officials
make changes between now and the election, the change won't be reflected in the
data we display, but I doubt anyone is going to be futzing with that field so
late in the game.
