Originally posted by **tako-jerome** November 4, 2022 edit : **Gecko Rolling; update 11/3/2022** Brand new to Gecko and openSUSE generally, out of the box it's working quite well but I'm having an issue where, when typing, it's like the focus or selection (don't know the term sorry) is skipping all over the place. I'm using a samsung galaxy book pro 360 13", aka NP930QDB-KE01US, and this hasn't been an issue on any other OS I've demo'd (Ubuntu, Mint). I'll be typing, eg as I'm making this, or _especially_ when running an alt+f2 command entry, and it's like the system wants to jump and try to input elsewhere on the screen. It's extremely glitchy trying to type, but aside from a sound card issue I've also had (and will post about later) the system is otherwise working fine. This device has both a standard touchpad mouse and a touchscreen. I"m guessing one of them is too sensitive. Aside from playing around in the KDE system settings, are there any other ways I can try to roubleshoot this? I'm really hoping the answer isn't to just disable my touchscreen by default. **lshw** produces : ``` *-input:0 product: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard physical id: 2 logical name: input0 logical name: /dev/input/event0 logical name: input0::capslock logical name: input0::numlock logical name: input0::scrolllock capabilities: i8042 *-input:1 product: Video Bus physical id: 3 logical name: input1 logical name: /dev/input/event1 capabilities: platform *-input:2 product: WCOM0134:00 2D1F:0135 Stylus physical id: 4 logical name: input14 logical name: /dev/input/event12 logical name: /dev/input/mouse3 capabilities: i2c *-input:3 product: WCOM0134:00 2D1F:0135 physical id: 5 logical name: input15 logical name: /dev/input/event13 logical name: /dev/input/mouse4 capabilities: i2c *-input:4 product: PC Speaker physical id: 6 logical name: input17 logical name: /dev/input/event14 capabilities: isa *-input:5 product: ELAN902C:00 04F3:2DCE physical id: 7 logical name: input18 logical name: /dev/input/event7 logical name: /dev/input/mouse0 capabilities: i2c *-input:6 product: ELAN902C:00 04F3:2DCE UNKNOWN physical id: 8 logical name: input19 logical name: /dev/input/event8 capabilities: i2c *-input:7 product: Lid Switch physical id: 9 logical name: input2 logical name: /dev/input/event2 capabilities: platform *-input:8 product: ELAN902C:00 04F3:2DCE UNKNOWN physical id: a logical name: input20 logical name: /dev/input/event9 capabilities: i2c *-input:9 product: ZNT0001:00 14E5:650E Mouse physical id: b logical name: input22 logical name: /dev/input/event10 logical name: /dev/input/mouse1 capabilities: i2c *-input:10 product: ZNT0001:00 14E5:650E Touchpad physical id: c logical name: input23 logical name: /dev/input/event11 logical name: /dev/input/mouse2 capabilities: i2c *-input:11 product: sof-hda-dsp Mic physical id: d logical name: input25 logical name: /dev/input/event15 *-input:12 product: sof-hda-dsp Headphone physical id: e logical name: input26 logical name: /dev/input/event16 *-input:13 product: sof-hda-dsp HDMI/DP,pcm=3 physical id: f logical name: input27 logical name: /dev/input/event17 *-input:14 product: sof-hda-dsp HDMI/DP,pcm=4 physical id: 10 logical name: input28 logical name: /dev/input/event18 *-input:15 product: sof-hda-dsp HDMI/DP,pcm=5 physical id: 11 logical name: input29 logical name: /dev/input/event19 *-input:16 product: Intel HID events physical id: 12 logical name: input3 logical name: /dev/input/event3 capabilities: platform *-input:17 product: Intel HID 5 button array physical id: 13 logical name: input4 logical name: /dev/input/event4 capabilities: platform *-input:18 product: Power Button physical id: 14 logical name: input5 logical name: /dev/input/event5 capabilities: platform *-input:19 product: Power Button physical id: 15 logical name: input6 logical name: /dev/input/event6 capabilities: platform ``` Edit 1 : I'll do my best to edit this and update as I can sneak research in during work today. Attached a screenshot of my touchpad settings - **What are those ignored devices on the menu I can't access? Relevance?** I tried increasing my keyboard timeout from 250ms (default) to 400ms and will report back later after typing more. ![touchpad screenshot](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/117459145/200007751-64522981-ebf5-4a83-968e-5b54902e96ee.png) ____@___:~> uname -r 6.0.6-1-default ____@___~> sudo inxi -Aa [sudo] password for jerome: Audio: Device-1: Intel Tiger Lake-LP Smart Sound Audio vendor: Samsung Co driver: sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl alternate: snd_hda_intel,snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl bus-ID: 00:1f.3 chip-ID: 8086:a0c8 class-ID: 0401 Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k6.0.6-1-default running: yes Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 16.1 running: no Sound Server-3: PipeWire v: 0.3.59 running: yes ____@___:~> cat /usr/lib/os-release NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed" # VERSION="20221103" ID="opensuse-tumbleweed" ID_LIKE="opensuse suse" VERSION_ID="20221103" PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed" ANSI_COLOR="0;32" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:tumbleweed:20221103" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org" HOME_URL="https://www.opensuse.org/" DOCUMENTATION_URL="https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed" LOGO="distributor-logo-Tumbleweed" jerome@koti:~> lsb_release -a LSB Version: n/a Distributor ID: openSUSE Description: openSUSE Tumbleweed Release: 20221103 Codename: n/a jerome@koti:~> lsb_release LSB Version: n/a **Edit 2 : ** uname -r results : ___@___:~> uname - 6.0.6-1-default ___@___:~> cat /usr/lib/os-release NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed" # VERSION="20221103" ID="opensuse-tumbleweed" ID_LIKE="opensuse suse" VERSION_ID="20221103" PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed" ANSI_COLOR="0;32" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:tumbleweed:20221103" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org" HOME_URL="https://www.opensuse.org/" DOCUMENTATION_URL="https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed" LOGO="distributor-logo-Tumbleweed" `
