Why would collaborators be able to edit or add things to the batch? Only the user will have physical control of the batch. I am not sure where this would fit under our original use cases, are you suggesting a new use case?
I tend to agree with Gregg on this one, but it may be that I don't fully understand the entire brewing process. What I would see collaborators being able to add/edit would be recipes, however.

I'm moving this back to the backlog. I don't think we should worry about it for sprint 2 We need to figure out how it is supposed to work first.
I think this is a dupe of issue #28
I think this issue is too complicated to try to implement this late in the release. This makes me sad because a lot of the code under the hood is done, it just doesn't have a UI layer.
We should mention in out final reports that this was a feature we wanted, but couldn't finish in time.
Users should be able to add other users as collaborators on a batch. Then these collaborators should be able to edit the batch and add things to it.
