Start the F#$% Up!

Description

A fireside chat that brings together 3-4 founders of diverse startups with the intention of demystifying and shedding light on the realities of creating a product or a startup.

Discussions about working with incubators or accelerators, how it worked, what was successful, why they did it, what they enjoyed - all of it.

The life of a tech founder dissected and discussed in retrospect by a handful of them.

Moderator Bio

Miguel Coquet is a software engineer by training, and a builder by nature. Co-founder of GS over a decade ago. Runs Coquet Co. Has other projects in the oven.

The idea actually started with Luis correia ( https://www.plann.pt/en/team#en-luis I don't have a better link Luis. Sorry) and I think he should be one of the panelists.

I'v reached out to João Gomes ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/joaomealhagomes/ ) and he has tentatively agreed to join. Had a couple of startups , one of them moved on to actually having clients (Faarm) and they had some accelerator contact. Old time member of the group, lovely chap.

Cá vai minha BIO. Se for grande, corta aí umas coisas:

O Luís não sabe muito bem o que é. Isto de catalogar pessoas é uma chatice (vejam o linkedin, se tiverem mesmo curiosos). Não teve muito sucesso, senão todos o conheciam (não o conhecem, pois não?). Gosta mais de falar da merda que faz do que das coisas que conquista (Imposter syndrome?). Anyway, o Luís é um Eng. Civil (what?) que começou a brincar às startups em 2013, criando uma empresa de web analytics (PopcornMetrics). Passou pelo Lisbon Challenge (Beta-i), esteve na Startup Lisboa e entrou para o Seedcamp (Londres). Ainda foi a SF convencer a malta do YCombinator que a coisa ia correr bem, mas parece que eles percebem melhor disto que nós, pois a coisa correu mal. Isto das startups está condenado a falhar (será?)
