What is the goal for that ? PNG may be heavier than JPG for this kind of images.... No ?

Beware that in some not-so-distant-future, Gaggle will use latest osmdroid, thus rendering some changes useless...

Yes, in this case png are heavier, but the server does not provide jpeg image.

Whatever the next library will be, tiles urls will still be needed, and someone doing the change will then copy/paste the good url ;-)
