This is high priority for releasing this to PyPI.

@wisp3rwind: It would be nice to have your fixes to help with this.

This is what I intended to do next. However, it turned out to be quite a hassle to disentangle my changes from the embedart PR because there's many small changes for Python 3. Thus I'd like this to be merged first. Locally, I've already rebased the Python 3 stuff on the pr-embedart branch. I'd like to review it before opening a PR, though.
