Fixed the archaic css layout

Will this work in IE, can you test there? Also, there was an issue before where some browser extensions could mess the layout, with tables everything was ok.

for IE there have to be some vendor crutches (check known issues)

Sorry, not merging this. I see nothing to gain, the table just works.
