"I have been using the ChatGPT extension on VS Code, but suddenly I am unable to access it. I deleted and re-downloaded the app, but it opens a second Chrome page where I have to log in using Google authentication. However, it doesn't let me in. When I click login on the ChatGPT sidebar in VS Code, there's no bar to write the prompt. Can anyone suggest a solution to this issue?"

Unable to login as well .. am on the paid chatgpt version which one needs to be authenticated via magic link... checked the link works in the browser but does not work in the same tab for the browser thats opened by the extension

@ste-hue could you share a screenshot of your extension where you don't see a textbox for prompts?

@Nicholas0350 the issue with magic link is that, it needs to be opened on the same tab where extension opens the login flow. You could try just copying it and pasting in the same browser tab. Don't click on the link from your email. There are some solutions proposed in this thread: https://github.com/gencay/vscode-chatgpt/issues/151

I just tested using ChatGPT Plus, I don't see any issues at the moment. If you have a reproducible scenario I'd be happy to look into more but without a repro it's hard to understand the issues.

Thanks for confirming @ste-hue! If others stumble upon this thread, please make sure to open the magic link in the same window that the extension is opening. Do not click it from your email. This is if you are a Plus subscriber and hitting ChatGPT at capacity error from time to time when openai restricts the public access to their services.
