As the database production is being halted (part of #312), GOOSE can no longer be considered a publicly usable resource. It already has the following prominent warning message from some time ago:
GOOSE is now deprecated
After many years of service, the GOOSE interface and the MySQL data backing it are now deprecated. While we work on the replacement, we would recommend that users looking for general query functionality make use of our public RDF endpoint at http://rdf.geneontology.org. To help understand the contents of the graph store, we have some example queries and initial documentation.
GOOSE is still available for use, but the data is likely out of date. Please use the query "SELECT max(assocdate) FROM association;" to get the latest annotation date. The "lite" database should give more recent results.
That said, it should probably just be excised at this point.
