Hi,
I'd like to ask for a new term: type III terminal bouton (another ticket has been submitted to change terminal button to bouton). Definition: Terminal inflated portion of the axon of a non-glutamatergic neuron, containing the specialized apparatus necessary to release neurotransmitters at a regulatory synapse. The axon terminus is considered to be the whole region of thickening and the terminal button is a specialized region of it. Type III terminal boutons are larger than type II ones. It is a child of GO:0043195 terminal button. Synonyms: type III terminal button References: Gramates, L.S., Budnik, V. (1999). Assembly and maturation of the Drosophila larval neuromuscular junction. Int. Rev. Neurobiol. 43: 93--117
Thank you.
