VEGF-activated neuropilin signalling pathway #10473

Hi Becky (or Paola)

Using Term Genie I have created the new go term: id: GO:1902336 name: positive regulation of retinal ganglion cell axon guidance PMID: 21658587

The author, Christiana Ruhrberg has suggested that the term

positive regulation of retinal ganglion cell axon guidance by VEGF-activated neuropilin signalling pathway - the other 2 VEGF receptors VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 don't play a role, in this. Or

positive regulation of axon guidance by VEGF-activated neuropilin signalling pathway and then I would add retinal ganglion cell to annotation extension.

OR positive regulation of cell guidance by VEGF-activated neuropilin signalling pathway and then I would add retinal ganglion cell to annotation extension.

[this follows a similar ontology to the GO term: GO:0038090 positive regulation of cell migration by VEGF-activated platelet derived growth factor receptor signaling pathway].

This term would then be associated with VEGF164 (Q00731-2) and Nrp1 (P97333)

Thanks

Ruth

For starters, added: neuropilin signaling pathway ; GO:0038189 VEGF-activated neuropilin signaling pathway ; GGO:0038190 neuropilin binding ; GO:0038191

I obsoleted the GO:1902335 neuron migration term in TermGenie as Paola and I agreed that it's axon guidance, not neuron migration, and instead committed:

ID: GO:1902378 Label: VEGF-activated neuropilin signaling pathway involved in axon guidance (similar format to existing terms)

ID: GO:1902379 Label: chemoattractant activity involved in axon guidance

Allowing you to use RGC in the annotation extension.

Thanks, Becky
