checkpoint regulation terms wth the same meaning #10522

Whilst requesting https://sourceforge.net/p/geneontology/ontology-requests/10322/

I noticed that there are 2 branches leading to sets of which appear to mean the same thing but are not linked.

So, For example GO:0090268 activation of mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint Any process that starts the inactive process of a mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint.

Is really the same as GO:0072416 signal transduction involved in mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint or at least these terms are supposed to refer to checkpoint activation, which isn't totally clear.

Probably the signalling terms should be revised to be named "signaling involved in spindle checkpoint activation"

which is a) clearer and b) I'm not sure that it is signal transduction (which appears to always involve a receptor? ) but it is signaling.

I can come in and go through these with you when you get back.....
