Hi Val,
I think this term is the correct one to use. The first sentence is the key. If the process of transcription is decreasing because of glucose, then this term is correct.

I have been using the term "negative regulation of transcription by glucose" GO:0045014
to describe glucose repression in fission yeast.
However, this term isn't fully informative and the definition is "Any process involving glucose that stops, prevents or reduces the rate of transcription. The presence of glucose in the growth medium inhibits the synthesis of certain enzymes in bacteria growing on the medium. For example, transcription of some catabolic operons is under negative control by specific repressors and glucose is an anti-inducer of xylose utilization and glycerol kinase." I really want to use a term which captures that the negative regulation is in response to replete glucose'
Some of the info in this def "The presence of glucose in the growth medium inhibits the synthesis of certain enzymes in bacteria growing on the medium." does not seem to be specific for transcription repression.
