Remove: 'ER membrane insertion complex ; GO:0072379' parentage because the complex can have other roles.
Strictly, this is allowed if it is one of the roles. Using capable_of and capable_of_part_of just say that the complex is capable of executing an MF, BP (or BP part) given the right circumstances and that this happens as part of normal biology.
This is different from applying part_of, which must be true at all times in order to be in the ontology.

Made changes to BAT3 complex as requested, but classification under ER membrane insertion complex remains. It is now inferred via 'capable of part of' some 'tail-anchored membrane protein insertion into ER membrane'.

Added synonyms to BAT3 complex. Will test out new TG template to add in the complex binding term when the synonyms filter through.

Added in TG: BAT3 complex binding ; GO:1904288

I'm annotating proteins that are components of, or bind to, the BAG6-UBL4A-TRC35 complex. This is the same as the BAT3 complex:
BAT3 complex ; GO:0071818 An ER membrane insertion complex that acts by facilitating tail-anchored protein capture by ASNA1/TRC40. In mammals the complex contains Bat3, TRC35 and Ubl4A. is_a: ER membrane insertion complex ; GO:0072379
I'd like to add synonyms and revise the definition and parentage to make it clearer that it's the same trimeric complex.
exact: BAG6-UBL4A-TRC35 complex [PMID:21636303] exact: Bag6 complex [PMID:21636303] exact: Bat3-TRC35-Ubl4A complex [PMID:20676083]
E.g: A multi-protein complex containing, in mammals, BAT3 (BAG6) and its cofactors TRC35 (GET4) and UBL4A. Facilitates tail-anchored protein capture by ASNA1/TRC4 and also chaperones polypeptides from the endoplasmic reticulum retrotranslocation machinery to the proteasome, maintaining the solubility of substrates to improve ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD).
Remove: 'ER membrane insertion complex ; GO:0072379' parentage because the complex can have other roles.
Thank you!
