Hi Doug - any chance of defs for some of these cell types?

Here are Definitions for the various new terms I'm interested in.
TERM: Pigment cell differentiation DEFINITION: The process whereby a relatively unspecialized cell acquires the specialized features of a pigmented cell such as a melanocyte. DEFXREF: zfin:dh
With respect to parentage, it should be analogous to the parentage for the similar melanocyte differentiation terms.
ie.. all the "regulation of...." terms should be isa children of GO:0045595 "regulation of cell differentiation" in addition to their partof parent shown in the graph above.
all the "positive regulation of...." terms should be isa children of GO:0045597 "positive regulation of cell differentiation" in addition to their isa parents shown in the graph above.
all the "negative regulation of...." terms should be isa children of GO:0045596 "negative regulation of cell differentiation" in addition to their isa parents shown inthe graph above.

TERM: Early stripe melanocyte differentiation DEFINITION: The process whereby a relatively unspecialized cell acquires the specialized features of an early stripe melanocyte (ESM). In zebrafish, ESMs develop during the first phase (2-3 weeks of development) of the larva to adult transition (2-4 weeks of development). DEFXREF: PMID 11858836
TERM: Late stripe melanocyte differentiation DEFINITION: The process whereby a relatively unspecialized cell acquires the specialized features of a late stripe melanocyte (LSM). In zebrafish, LSMs develop during the second phase (3-4 weeks of development) of the larva-to-adult transition (2-4 weeks of development). DEFXREF: PMID 11858836
TERM: Iridophore differentiation DEFINITION: The process whereby a relatively unspecialized cell acquires the specialized features of an iridophore. Iridophores are iridescent or reflective pigment cells derived from the nerual crest containing guanidine-based reflective platelets responsible for their silver or gold appearance. DEFXREF: PMID 11858836
TERM: Xanthophore differentiation DEFINITION: The process whereby a relatively unspecialized cell acquires the specialized features of a xanthophore. Xanthophores are pigment cells derived from the neural crest containing pteridine and/or carotenoid pigments making them yellow or orange in appearance. DEFXREF: PMID 11858836

I would like to propose an expansion of terms in the process tree to accommodate differentiation of more types of pigment cells. Here is a proposed structure, for which I will be happy to provide defs etc. once any churning of graph structures stops. The proposed structure does not include multiple parentage which will occur in several cases.
cell differentiation (GO:0030154) --%pigment cell differentiation (GO:NEW) ----%melanocyte differentiation (GO:0030318) ------%early stripe melanocyte (ESM) diff. (GO:NEW) --------<reg. of. ESM differentiation(GO:NEW) ----------%pos. reg. of ESM diff. (GO:NEW) ----------%neg. reg. of ESM diff (GO:NEW) ------%late stripe melanocyte (LSM) diff. (GO:NEW) --------<reg. of. LSM differentiation(GO:NEW) ----------%pos. reg. of LSM diff. (GO:NEW) ----------%neg. reg. of LSM diff (GO:NEW) ----%iridophore differentiation (GO:NEW) --------<reg. of. iridophore differentiation(GO:NEW) ----------%pos. reg. of iridophore diff. (GO:NEW) ----------%neg. reg. of iridophore diff (GO:NEW) ----%xanthophore differentiation (GO:NEW) --------<reg. of. xanthophore differentiation(GO:NEW) ----------%pos. reg. of xanthophore diff. (GO:NEW) ----------%neg. reg. of xanthophore diff (GO:NEW)
In the case of much opposition to implementing a structure with this many new terms, I would reluctantly settle for a single new term 'pigment cell differentiation' (GO:NEW) as a parent of 'melanocyte differentiation (GO:0030318) perhaps with a single set of regulation terms to go along with it.
