GO:0070197 JSON meiotic attachment of telomere to nuclear envelope Biological Process
Definition (GO:0070197 GONUTS page) The meiotic cell cycle process in which physical connections are formed between telomeric heterochromatin and the nuclear envelope, facilitating bouquet formation. PMID:18818742
GO:0044821 meiotic telomere tethering at nuclear periphery Definition (GO:0044821 GONUTS page) The process in which a telomere is maintained in a specific location at the nuclear periphery, as part of a meiotic cell cycle.
they sound the same don't they?
Oh actually I think these are diffenct events. One is during prophase and one is during M-phase. I need to check this...
There are issues. Clustering isn't part_of meiosis I. I will return to this when I have finished the paper.
any update ?
There is a cool new Nature paper on this (2 days ago): https://twitter.com/promiselcooper/status/1367219412474810372 (not yet in PubMed) I'll revisit telomere tethering when this comes through the pipeline...
we ended up with 2 terms for "meiotic telomere tethering". I'm not sure how...we did this in detail a while back...
| meiotic attachment of telomere to nuclear envelope
| meiotic telomere tethering at nuclear periphery
(note that clustering and tethering are separate steps so we should have separate processes for clustering)
But, I don't see a difference between these 2 terms
