It seems there should be some intervening terms but could not find anything appropriate.

I think there are probably too many terms here. We probably don't want to have a BP term for each cell wall carbohydrate, (these are single step)

the regulation should probably eventually be more general ( like regulation of cell wall biogenesis , which is missing).

I don't think we have evidence that there are different regulatory pathways to synthesise different polymers, at least at present. All of the regulation is through same pathway through Pck1 and the Rho GTPases. So, longer term most of these specific terms will probably end up merging into "regulation of cell wall biosynthesis", so that could be added and this put as a parent to GO:0090334 | regulation of cell wall (1->3)-beta-D-glucan biosynthetic process.

or you could wait for @pgaudet input.

There are definitely too many terms. I also don't think we need fungal versions of these terms. That defeats the object of GO.
