Merge GO:0036132 13-prostaglandin reductase activity & GO:0047522 15-oxoprostaglandin 13-oxidase activity? #28134

EC and KEGG xrefs on these 2 terms are the same. Comment on both says: Note that this is the reverse of the reaction described in '15-oxoprostaglandin 13-oxidase activity ; GO:0047522'.

@pgaudet Do you see a good reason to keep both, or should we merge?

Dear all,

The proposal has been made to obsolete GO:0036132 (5 EXP annotations: human PTGR1 and orthologs) name: 13-prostaglandin reductase activity & replace by GO:0047522 (1 EXP annotation: human PTGR2) name: 15-oxoprostaglandin 13-oxidase activity. The reason for obsoletion is that these represent the same reaction, in opposite direction. Both terms share the same EC.

RHEA mappings (missing) will be added: RHEA:11912 and RHEA:11916 that describe two related substrates.

You can comment on the ticket: https://github.com/geneontology/go-ontology/issues/28134

Thanks, Pascale

Correction: The 2 RHEAs refer to NAD/NADP
