In a quick and unscientific Google search, the GO term was the most common hit, and the next were papers on bacterial sodium channels.
I'll draw the attention of the transporter group to this, but I hereby vote to merge GO:0008308 into GO:0005244.

I wonder based on the placement in the graph if
voltage-gated ion-selective channel activity [GO:0008308] isn't a typo and should be voltage-gated anion-selective channel activity [GO:0008308]

It's possible ... and in that case, it's essentially the same as the newer term 'voltage-gated anion channel activity' (GO:0022844). Might be wise to retain the older ID upon merging.

I don't know anything about ion channels... just wondered if 'voltage-gated ion-selective channel activity' GO:0008308 (currently undefined) and 'voltage-gated ion channel activity' GO:0005244 are the same thing?
If not, a definition for the former would help.
