Teichoic acid terms Teichoic acids are found in the cell walls of gram-positive bacteria and are of two types, wall teichoic acid and lipoteichoic acid. The two types have related but distinct chemical structures and rely on separate pathways of biosynthesis. Lipoteichoic acid is of particular interest because of its proinflammatory properties.

note: for GO:0070395, I had to change the scope of the 'LTA biosynthetic process' to BROAD because in GO:0042109 LTA is used as an abbreviation for lymphotoxin A.
