Quick comment:

  1. amylopectin biosynthesis PART OF starch biosynthesis GO: 0019252 Def: The formation from simpler components of amylopectin, the (1-> 4) linked alpha glucose units with (1-6) alpha linkages Ref:tair: ISBN:0943088399

Could this go under "glucan biosynthesis" as an IS-A child rather than as part of starch biosynthesis?

From ISBN:0198506732 amylopectin - a polydisperse highly branched glucan composed of D- glucopyranose residues in alpha(1->4) glycosidic linkage; the chains are joined by alpha(1->6) glycosidic linkages and a small number of other linkages may occur.

Although it doesn't say much in the definition, amylopetcin is known to be a component of starch. So it makes sense to add this as 'part of' starch biosynthesis.

I thinkk something has gone wrong in the definitions for GO:0010017 and GO:0010018 in the ontology - they read:

term: red/far red light signaling pathway goid: GO:0010017 definition: The process by which the molecular signal produced by phototransduction is translated into cellular process.

term: far red light signaling pathway goid: GO:0010018 definition: The process by which far red light is converted to a cellular process.

They don't make much sense to me! Can you explain / reword?

Amelia,

I will fix the definitions when I am adding some new terms on DAG, which I hope is sometime this week or early next week.. Is that ok?
