As discussed on the email thread, I'm happy with the canonical and non-canonical names if you want to change them Becky.

Hi
in PMID: 20032469 WNT5A signaling through JNK is demonstrated, however the experiment has not shown GO:0060071 Wnt receptor signaling pathway, planar cell polarity pathway. but just transcriptional regulation via JNK.
Is this term going to be just too complex: Regulation of transcription via Wnt receptor mediated activation of the JNK signaling pathway Definition: The series of molecular signals initiated by binding of a Wnt protein to a receptor on the surface of the target cell where activated receptors signal via C-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) downstream effectors to modulate transcription.
Parents: GO:0046330 positive regulation of JNK cascade GO:0016055 Wnt receptor signaling pathway GO:0045449 regulation of transcription

Another non-canonical pathway for you - PMID:17720811 describes the induction of the p38 (MAPK) pathway via noncanonical WNT signaling.
For annotation of WNT4.

Renamed Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin ; GO:0060070 > canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway exact synonym:Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin
renamed children accordingly.
Created new term: non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway ; GO:0035567 The series of molecular signals initiated by binding of a Wnt protein to a frizzled family receptor on the surface of the target cell, followed by propagation of the signal via effectors other than beta-catenin. Comment: This term should only be used when Wnt receptor signaling occurs via a beta-catenin-independent route but the downstream effectors are unknown. If the downstream effectors are known, consider instead annotating to one of the children, or requesting a new term.
will crack on with the via/involved in terms .... Becky

Hi
wrt JNK signaling, I am annotating PMID:19137009 which shows that FZD10 affects JNK activity, and cytoskeleton organisation, but not planar cell polarity.
Please could you create the term:Wnt receptor signaling, via JNK pathway GO:0035567 non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway > New term: Wnt receptor signaling, via JNK pathway >> GO:0060071 Wnt receptor signaling pathway, planar cell polarity pathway
Thanks

Hi please also create terms: negative regulation of Wnt receptor signaling, via JNK pathway negative regulation of non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway
for annotation of xenopus SFRP5 Q8AWG4 IMP PMID:18981481
Thanks

In keeping with the cascade work, created new terms:
non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway via MAPKKK cascade ; GO:0038030
non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway via JNK cascade ; GO:0038031
This should wrap-up this SF item. Thanks Becky
And we already have: negative regulation of non-canonical Wnt receptor signaling pathway ; GO:2000051

Hi,
I would like to annotate WNT5A to the new term
NT: not sure how to name this (it should be a sibling of GO:0060070 Wnt receptor signaling pathway through beta-catenin) Defn: The series of molecular signals initiated by binding of Wnt protein to a frizzled family receptor on the surface of the target cell and ending with a change in transcription of target genes, but that does not signal through beta-catenin. is_a: GO:0016055 Wnt receptor signaling pathway syn: noncanonical Wnt signaling pathway syn: non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway
Possibly the other children of GO:0016055 Wnt receptor signaling pathway would then need to be grouped under the canonical and non-canonical terms as appropriate. Have set as high priority, as the quicker this can be resolved the easier it will be annotate the rest of this pathway.
Thanks, V
