I'd like to request a new term as a child of neurotransmitter receptor metabolic process in order to annotate gene products that function to regulate receptor abundance.

GO:0045213 neurotransmitter receptor metabolic process is_a GO:00045212 neurotransmitter receptor biosynthetic process is_a GO:NEW neurotransmitter receptor catabolic process

GO:00032801 receptor catabolic process is_a GO:NEW neurotransmitter receptor catabolic process

The standard catabolic process definition should be fine.
