ER-Golgi intermediate compartment organization A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment.

kind of GO:0006996 organelle organization see also GO:0007030 Golgi organization GO:0007029 endoplasmic reticulum organization

Hi Bernd, this is done:

Added new term: GO:0097111 endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment organization

Also, stemming from this request, I've rearranged a few terms and am recording below for future reference:

- The corresponding CC term, GO:0005793 ER-Golgi intermediate compartment, is_a GO:0044444 cytoplasmic part. However, GO:0005783 endoplasmic reticulum and GO:0005794 Golgi apparatus are is_a children of both GO:0044444 cytoplasmic part and GO:0043231 intracellular membrane-bounded organelle. Children of GO:0043231 intracellular membrane-bounded organelle include terms representing networks of membranes such as "platelet dense tubular network" and "subsynaptic reticulum". ER and Golgi themselves are network of membranes rather than a single organelle. Similarly, GO:0033116 ER-Golgi intermediate compartment membrane is_a child of both "cytoplasmic part" and "organelle membrane" Therefore, I've added is_a parent GO:0043231 intracellular membrane-bounded organelle to GO:0005793 ER-Golgi intermediate compartment.
Similarly, I've added is_a parent GO:0033648 host intracellular membrane-bounded organelle to GO:0044172 host cell endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment.

- 2) To make naming consistent across GO terms, and based on avoiding abbreviations in term names, I've edited the following names and synonyms:

Thanks, Paola
