Hi Nevila,
Here you go: I've left out 'receptor' from the term name since KIT is the receptor (to be consistent with existing terms)
[Term] id: GO:0038109 name: Kit signaling pathway namespace: biological_process def: "A series of molecular signals that starts with the binding of stem cell factor to the tyrosine kinase receptor KIT on the surface of a cell, and ends with regulation of a downstream cellular process, e.g. transcription. Stem cell factor (KIT ligand) binding to the receptor Kit mediates receptor dimerization, activation of its intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity and autophosphorylation. The activated receptor then phosphorylates various substrates, thereby activating distinct signaling cascades within the cell that trigger a change in state or activity of the cell." [GOC:nhn, GOC:signaling, PMID:16129412] synonym: "stem cell factor receptor signaling pathway" EXACT [PMID:16129412] synonym: "stem cell factor signaling pathway" EXACT [PMID:16129412] is_a: GO:0007169 ! transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway is_a: GO:0019221 ! cytokine-mediated signaling pathway created_by: rfoulger creation_date: 2012-03-22T10:09:48Z
And created the process/function link: Kit signaling pathway ; GO:0038109 --[partof]stem cell factor receptor activity ; GO:0005020
Thanks, Becky

Hello, I am a Nextprot biocurator and I have a need for the following GO term:
GO: KIT receptor signaling pathway Child of GO:0007166 : cell surface receptor signaling pathway
