BCR receptor internalization #9847

Closed gocentral closed 9 years ago

gocentral commented 12 years ago

Hi Becky,

Could you please look into this receptor-related request - If not, please assign to myself.

Thanks, Paola

Hi Anna Maria,

We try to make specific terms like this only when the internalization affects the signaling pathway (or other process): e.g. see the children of insulin receptor internalization ; GO:0038016 & Wnt receptor internalization ; GO:0038017. Does the BCR internalization have a positive or negative effect on the signaling pathway? (in which case I'll create a more specific term). If not, I'd suggest annotating to 'receptor internalization ; GO:0031623' and capture the ID of the BCR at the annotation extension stage.

Thanks, Becky

Hi Becky, BCR internalizationaffect mainly the antigen processing and presentation but , also affect negatively: the BCR signaling because crosslinked BCRs are ultimately degraded following their uptake positively: can affect the TLR7 and TLR9 signaling by transfer DNA /RNA antigen to those receptors. Please let me know if these are things that would make reasonable have a specific term for BCR. Thanks AM

Hi, Thanks for the info.. do you have any papers/reviews I can take a look at for those processes? cheers, Becky

Here are the PMIDs that I have available let me know if you need more PMID: 18513998 PMID: 10996020 AM

I certainly think this is a worthy term to add to the GO as BCR internalization is both a well-studied and important process for the functioning of the immune system.

Added: B cell receptor internalization ; GO:0036300

Will add a signaling term via TG1: positive regulation of TLR9 signaling by B cell receptor internalization ; GO:NEW (PMID:18513998)

We already have a related term for the related antigen processing: B cell antigen processing and presentation mediated by B cell receptor uptake of antigen ; GO:0002417 I haven't given GO:0002417 a link to the new term because the parentage suggests that receptor internalization is first and THEN the processing occurs.

Thanks for the papers Anna. Becky
