WIP: edge meta annotations #74

@julesjacobsen @balhoff @nmatentz - I would like to merge this PR but it introduces lots of empty {}s for metas. Any ideas?

@cmungall can this be closed now? I think it has been long superseded by the switch to Immutables in the 0.3.0 release which also contains this change.

We already have the functionality to annotate edges; see
