This curation tool allows curators to make precise assertions as to when functions were gained and lost during evolution and record the evidence (e.g. experimentally supported GO annotations and phylogenetic information including orthology) for those assertions.

Functionality to predict which ancestor to annotate should take taxon constraints into account #5

Closed pgaudet closed 6 years ago

When we right click on a term in the annotation matrix, one of the ancestral nodes lights up to show us which ancestor we can annotate based on the triangulation of the evidence. However this does not take the taxon constraints into accounts, so that the suggestion may be misleading.

If the calculation cannot be done exactly, terms for which there is a taxon constraint should at least trigger a warning.

Thanks,

Pascale

good idea, it currently doesn't take taxon constraints into account.
