PAINT - NOT'ing all annotations for a node #57

Open pgaudet opened 4 years ago

Hello, When there is a long branch (for example) we sometimes want to put NOT-IRD annotations for all terms, since we don't know what functions may have been conserved. When there are many annotations this is tedious. It would be nice to be able to NOT all annotations for a node in a single operation.

Thanks, Pascale

Isn't putting "NOT" on these annotations saying that you know that it is NOT x. It seems like what you would really want to do is block propagations so that you don't make an annotation at all.

pgaudet commented 4 years ago

The NOT -IRD is a 'stop propagation' those are not exported, so we don't state 'NOT x'.

Great. I seem to recall that there was a period where PAINT was definitely generating NOT annotations in all the places where I only wanted to block propagation.

Right - this is now fixed :)
