One of the main uses of the GO is to perform enrichment analysis on gene sets. For example, given a set of genes that are up-regulated under certain conditions, an enrichment analysis will find which GO terms are over-represented (or under-represented) using annotations for that gene set.

Panther enrichment does not recognise some pombe IDs and thinks some are the same entry #13

I submitted the unique gene list. Some are missing from panther although they have been in GO for > 5 years

Some panther thinks are multiple entries for the same gene, they aren't...

i.e in the multiple mapping, these are indenendent genes/proteins
