GO:0005581 collagen trimer #7

David OS and I added the functional/structural children with Sylvie (expert from MatrixDB), do we want to keep the precise types? They could become NARROW synonyms.

Yes. Just push the actual trimers (e.g. collagen type VI trimer) to InTact.

They are already in CP. It would require a re-annotation of the IntAct complexes to the parent term and also checking for any other manual annotations. I guess it requires an obsoletion call.

I thought the whole point of these tickets was to flag which terms would stay in GO and which would, ultimately, be obsoleted. The proposed inference mechanism would automatically classify the InTact trimers under the functional/structural classes, as long as the relevant annotations were present on the InTact terms.

Sorry, you are right, the annotations would get migrated automatically if your plan comes off! So nothing to do right now, right?
