Representing what the GP is vs what it regulates #70

Even if it would complicates the ribbon, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to have 2 slim lines per gene (or divide each slim box in two sub-boxes):

The first slim line would represent what the gene really is (and is part of), while the second line would indicate what the gene actually regulates. I find mixing both a bit misleading ?

i don't find putting all annotations for a gene in the single line of ribbon. i'm not sure users who will be visual consumers of the ribbon will appreciate any difference based on relations. in other ribbons on the Alliance site, multiple lines will be used for showing annotations to orthologs.

also, we have to remember that the ribbon is only a visual summary, and is in no way meant to give all the info about a gene's full set of annotations.
