6.0.0 or master #38

Would you recommend starting new projects with the 6.0.0 or master at this point?

I'd go with 6.0.0 as it has already been used in multiple projects here. The main thing missing is the documentation so if you can figure out module structure (which is pretty straightforward) without it, go ahed. If it feels difficult, use the current release and wait for the 6.0.0 with proper documentation.
