Request debug/trace output #140

I'm encountering several applications that are either not downloading, not
downloading completely or failing to install, but I can't find any output
to find out why (so that I can perhaps fix it myself instead of bugging you ;-)

If you could add one or more of the following, it would be extremely helpful:

* an output log
* configurable log output settings (e.g. log filename, debug/info/warning
levels)
* a debug/trace command-line option
