I used the most recent mimikatz version 2.2 (12/25) on a server 2019 in a lab enviornment. I received the following error "ERROR kuhl_m_sekurlsa_acquireLSA ; Key import" I tried an earlier version 2.1.1 #17763 and ran sekurlsa::logonpasswords just fine. Reference #214

Hello: I'm having all sekurlsa:: commands with "ERROR kuhl_m_sekurlsa_acquireLSA ; Key import" when running in a vbox Win 10 1809 x64 VM.

Hello: I have been using mimikatz for some time.This ERROR kuhl_m_sekurlsa_acquireLSA ; Key import" , is an sporadic issue.I just having this when running mimi in a virtualbox Win 10 VM.In my real host I tested last 8 versions and did well.I think this Key import error can be due to windows encryption is being solid protected by some Defender modules. My host and guest OS are Win 10 1809 x64 having Avast as AV.

Hello: As shankar-shankar commented sekurlsa:: commands gives "ERROR kuhl_m_sekurlsa_acquireLSA ; Key import" at least in mimikatz 2.2.0 20200208 Chrome 80 update/mimikatz 2.2.0 20200104 - lsadump & Chrome but in my case only when running mimikatz in a virtualbox Win 10 1809 x64 VM.In my real host,.also Win 10 1809 x64, I tested last 8 versions and did well. But as shankar-shankar request, I uploaded mimikatz 2.1.1 for Win 10 1809-1803. And I tested in my vbox VM.

This is the output.This mimikatz version runs sekurlsa:: commands well in VM, even you, see wdigest password as _TBAL. papotito123mimikatz 2.1.1.log

I hope the developer have time to see this.

it can have some issue with "out of the box" VM. I try to support up to dates Windows, more than lab ;)
