FIrst commit purges glib from overlay (seems to work fine with the originl quark patch(s) no longer required (seems to be resolved upstream according to the bug tracker links in the patch). Alpine are still carrying it for now though.
I re-added the latest from ::gentoo with the most recent patch from Alpine, so that no breakage happens while we determine whether the patch is needed or not. If it isn't, the second commit here can be reverted.
