@jmshapir In the current wiki I have taken a stab at the to do items listed above. Let me know if you see anything I missed or any further changes you'd like me to make. Thanks!
@gentzkow is it ok with you if I edit a few things as I go over them? If so can you resend invite to repo? Thanks!
Definitely. Invite sent.
@gentzkow this looks good to me! A couple small notes below. I am also going to ask some RAs here to review in case I missed anything. Will post results of that exercise here.
Great! Yes on both of the points above.
(My thought has been that we are going to want to decommission Evernote and move that content into Dropbox directories, so as to have one fewer tool to worry about. But I figured we should keep Evernote in the manual until we do so.)
OK great. Both are implemented. I put Evernote at the bottom of the PhD applications page for now; we can revise later if/when we switch to dropbox.
@gentzkow we've now reviewed again on my end and everything seems good. Feel free to cut over whenever. After the cutover, I may add a "JMSLab" appendix for some stuff that's specific to how we work here. If that ends up causing clutter we can always port it somewhere else.
Thanks!
Great!
Do you have a preference on whether we keep /gentzkow/ra-manual/ where it is or move it to /gslab-econ/? Either fine by me.
In either case, I'm thinking we might archive the old one by
(If we delete the old repository I think it disappears permanently after 90 days -- see here)
I prefer to move it to gslab-econ.
Another approach to archiving is just to snapshot the current glsab-econ/ra-manual and link to a ZIP archive of the old one in the new one. That has the advantage of keeping the old one public in case people still want to use it / reference it.
OK. The manual is now live at gslab-econ/ra-manual.
I wasn't sure what you mean by "snapshot". Do you mean to export the source files for the wiki to a zip archive and store that directly in the new repo? We could definitely do that.
@gentzkow
OK. The manual is now live at gslab-econ/ra-manual.
Great!

Yep, that's exactly what I had in mind. We could add a link to the ZIP archive under "Legacy Tools" or similar. That way it's easy for people to get to if interested.
Up to that I'm happy to close this issue. I'm going to add a JMSLab appendix to the manual to handle some stuff specific to how we work here. If that creates any issue just let me know and I'll move it.
Summary
In this issue, we made revisions to the gentzkow flavor RA manual then migrated it to gslab-econ/ra-manual. This will be the live version for both gslab and non-gslab gentzkow projects. The version that was formerly at that location is now at gslab-econ/ra-manual-archived.
Follow up to GSLab RA manual issue 9.
Goal is to implement the changes summarized in comments here and here.
