Fix display of dates where only year is available in the metadata #26

BODC records do not always have complete dates only years under Temporal Reference (example ‘NERC North Sea Project Data Set (1988-1990)’ unique identifier ‘EDMED145’). The displayed metadata field forces a complete date to be displayed. Can this be changed so that if the metadata state only year then this gets displayed. Also, the portal element should read ‘The data span the period’ and not ‘spans’.

Emailed MEDIN today for clarification on the issue as the example metadata (EDMED145) does not seem to exhibit the problem.

Helen replied on Wed, 14 Mar 2012 09:39:39 to say that Mark will add a metadata entry exhibiting the issue to the portal to test against.

Commit 465b01b fixes this issue.
