Through the February 2024 member survey, the Knowledge Committee identified shared interest in two topic areas to prioritize in developing a BTAA-GIN research agenda: 1) Comparison of GIS/Data Services service models across BTAA libraries, and 2) Scalable approaches and best practices for georeferencing and/or extracting features from scanned maps and aerial imagery collections. It is our intent to charge one working group for each of these topics, comprised of members who indicated interest in leading or collaborating on research projects focused on these two topics. The Knowledge Committee will be represented on each of these groups to provide support, though member interests in these specific topics will dictate next steps throughout 2024-2025.
