Improve workflow for manual asset upload

Today, we discussed some ideas for uploading and attaching assets. Right now, the main types are:

• XML files (supplemental metadata)
• ZIP files (data downloads)
• PM Tiles (data preview)

For this ticket, we will focus on improving the way we upload single items through the GBL Admin Additional Assets interface.

For reference, here are the current steps that we would like to combine or simplify in some way:

Current Manual Workflow

1. Click “New Document”
2. Manually type in and select values
3. Click “Save Document” (user sent back to Dashboard)
4. Find item using a facet, such as Date Created = Today
5. Open document
6. Navigate to Additional Assets
7. Click “Upload Assets”
8. Click “Browse Files”
9. Select File from desktop
10. Click “Upload 1 file” green button
11. Click “Attach File” blue button (user sent back to item page)
12. Scroll down to Additional Assets
13. Copy link to file stored in S3
14. Navigate back to item page
15. Scroll down to Distribution-Links
16. Select link URI type
17. Paste in URL
18. Click Update Document
19. Test/QA/etc.
20. Update Publication State to “Public”

Asset uploader and Attach workflow now includes a dropdown field to indicate what References entries should accompany these assets.
